IN STOCK!

Celebrating the arrival of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s third child: Louis Arthur Charles. He will be known to all as His Royal Highness Prince Louis of Cambridge.

Entirely handmade in England by Merrythought, this luxurious bear has been designed with both Teddy bear collectors and Royal enthusiasts in mind. Measuring 12 inches he is five-way jointed and made from light dove gray wavy mohair. He has creamy felt paw pads with a delicate crown and rocking horse motif embroidered in golden thread. Around his neck is a baby blue bib made of pure silk, trimmed in lace, accented with a gold tassel and tied with a satin ribbon bow. Beautiful embroidery in the same golden thread used on his paw shows off the Royal crown, his name and birth date. His bib perfectly frames this darling bear's face. Just look at those engaging eyes and that hand-embroidered expression. Like all babies, he's quite hard to resist! A limited edition of 250 pieces will be available to collectors and Royal enthusiasts worldwide.

Presented in a luxury black and gold drum box. This bear a unique memento of the UK’s latest addition to the Royal Family. As a thoughtful gesture from Merrythought, edition number 1 of the limited edition will be gifted to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

PLEASE NOTE: Prices may change due to changes in the British Pound/ US Dollar exchange rate.

A History Of Fine, Handmade Teddy Bears In England Since Before 1930

Merrythought“Merrythought has been hand-making the quintessential English teddy bear in the World Heritage Site of Ironbridge, Shropshire, since 1930 and is now the last remaining British teddy bear manufacturer. The company is a fourth generation family business founded by Mr W.G Holmes in 1930 as a diversification from his mohair mill in Yorkshire. Over the years a huge range of teddy bears, soft toys, dolls, push-along toys, rocking horses and other animals have been created in the famous factory.”

Why The Merrythought Emblem Is A Wishbone

Merrythought wishboneThe origin of the name Merrythought derives from an archaic name for a wishbone, a symbol of 'good luck'.
The wishbone has been the company's emblem since 1930.

The World-Famous Merrythought Footlabel

Merrythought bears can be easily identified by the distinctive label on their footpad - traditionally on the right foot although some earlier bears may vary.
