R. John Wright created his first doll in November 1976. Since then, John has created series of characters based on classic stories that have endeared themselves to collectors around the world.

The little children series starting in 1980 was John's first real collection of dolls. In 1985, the Winnie-The-Pooh Collection premiered with Christopher Robin and Pooh Series I, which consisted of an 18" felt Christopher Robin and 8" mohair Pooh, which was exhibited at International Toy Fair in New York City. John's other treasured collections have included the Nursery Rhymes Series, Disney classics, such as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Pinocchio, Beatrix Potter, Kewpies, Raggedy Ann and Alice in Wonderland.
