This is the most important collection that The Toy Shoppe has ever offered in our 35 years. The scope of the collection, the impact that these dolls had upon the world, and the fact that Annette was so personally involved in the creation of each one make these Artist's Proofs both distinctive and significant.

A Unique & Historic Compilation
Featuring Over Two Decades
Of Beautiful Doll Design
The Artist's Proofs were personally created by Annette to display at the Nuremberg and New York International Toy Fairs. They were also used for the catalogue photography.
The Artist's Proofs catalog features dolls across her collections from the original Barefoot Children to the final Farewell Collection - over 200 different dolls.
This is a rare opportunity since only 1 or 2 Artist's Proofs were usually created for each doll. Even so, over 24 years they have amounted to a substantial collection. The scope of this collection illustrates how Annette earned her reputation as the foremost modern doll artist.
These Artist's Proofs were made using mother-moulds and were all hand-finished by Annette. She customized each of the doll's clothes, hairstyles and face paint, thus determining what the production dolls would later look like.
Some of the dolls feature clothes using antique fabrics that Annette picked from her collection of old fabrics and laces. These fabrics were then used as samples and reproduced for the production run.
